19 legislators expelled & 10 legislators suspended
NAGALAND POST ———-In another political development, NPF’s crisis further deepened on Friday after 19 legislators were expelled from the party “indefinitely” and another 10 legislators suspended from the party with immediate effect.
NPF working presidents– Huskha Yepthomi and Apong Pongener in the order stated that based on the recommendation of the Disciplinary Action Committee (DAC), the following legislators were expelled from the party indefinitely.
EXPELLED— Noke Wangnao,Y. Patton, C. Kipili Sangtam, G. Kaito Aye , Imkong L. Imchen , Deo Nukhu Dr. Benjongliba Aier , Shetoyi,Khekaho Assumi, Naiba Konyak, Nuklutoshi Dr. Longriniken, Phowang Er. Kropol,C.M. Chang, S. Pangnyu Phom Tokheho Yepthomi, Merentoshi Jamir,Imtikumzuk.
SUSPENDED
C. Apok Jamir,Pukhayi ,Eshak Konyak ,Tovihoto,SI Jamir ,Zhaleo Rio
Namri Nchang Neiba Kronu Neiliesalie Nicky Kire Neiphrezo Keditsu.
The order stated that the DAC, during its meeting on July 21, re-examined the activities of the 19 members and found that they had directly violated the Constitution of the NPF by demanding the resignation of the NPF president without any basis.
They also violated the party Constitution by defying the Whip on the floor of the house on July 21, 2017.
NPF said that the members had also violated the party’s constitution by going against the party whip on the floor of the house on July 21, 2017.
With this only five NPF legislators (excluding Speaker) in support of T.R. Zeliang has been spared by the party.
